Quarter-midget racing track, located on McKinley Ave

Does anyone remember an incredibly cool quarter-midget racing track, located on McKinley Ave. It was not far from the CA Air Nat'l Guard complex (which by the way, sure has grown over the years!) As a youngster around 5-6 years old, I found this little racing track, with bleachers and lighting and a PA system and kids driving these cool racing cars in real races. To a youngster such as myself, this was all just way too Kool! Fresno was really a hot bed of racin' back then. A few bucks could sure purchase a lot of fun! Seems like yesterday...

I do recall this track, because a family friend from Selma had kids who raced quarter midgets. I agree on the location you mentioned, that sounds right. Great fun when I was kid.

We Raced there 1965-1969, great times as a kid from the small town of Orosi. My Brother Nick and I thought we would follow the Vuky Family tradition as Valley Racers. Family situation changed and that was it. Thought we would end up at Kerney Bowl. We did pretty darn good in a few short years. My Dad John helped build and develop the Rice cars in Hayward (we moved up there for 2 years) I became the test driver before cars where shipped out, Won the Western States Glendale Ca 68, (First race in my New Rice car built by my Dad, second one built with up swept tail) went on to Phoenix 69 too win Grand National.
