Long Gone Bars, Nightclubs and Other Fun Night Spots
I will just throw some names out there: Frontier Club, Jim's Place, The Skyline Club, DJ's and Inkahoots in Clovis. The Refectory, Velvet Turtle/Scoreboard, Inkahoots2, The Stardust, Wilikers, Sari's Red Carpet, The Keyboard Lounge, numerous Ewell's that are gone (know a few are left), The Pub, Tarpey Tavern, Club Casino, The Palace, Knock Three Times, The Copper Pot, Porky's/Woody's/Fresno Feed and Fuel, The DeMarquis, Fran's Covered Wagon are just a few that I remember being in or hearing about. And the we had the topless HipHugger, another strip club, I think on Belmont near the circle and one that was way north on Golden State Blvd..

Cottontail Club, Pink Kitten and one on Blackstone across from the Brig. Can't remember the name.

Other nightspots of the 70s that had live music includes the Smugglers Inn and the Tropicana (usually called "The Trop") on Blackstone. Sometimes "Fresno musicians made good" would return to jam with the local band, such as members of Tower of Power. For the laid back, non-disco crowd, there was the Wild Blue Yonder in the Tower District. For derelicts, there was The Blue Front on the downtown end of Blackstone (or would that be Abby?)

Does anyone remember Duggan's Lounge on Abbey about one block north of Belmont? It was on the right side of Abbey between Belmont and the split with Blackstone. My wife and I spent quite a few Saturday nites there in the late sixties.

Back in 1970+ does anyone remember THE SOUL PATROL. They played at the bar on Belmont across from the park, on the east side , right as you came under the over pass, called The El Dorado?

The building that was home to Fresno Feed & Fuel, Porky's and Woody's is soon to be demolished. https://www.fresnobee.com/living/food-d ... 01562.html
