Zapp's Park was before my time and I only remember Maple Plunge and Airways. When my girlfriend first told me about it, I was shocked that I had never heard of it. But sure enough, a little research on the internet turned up a number of historical pictures from the era. I've seen the picture below many times and it looks like everyone was having a lot of fun.

I've seen that picture as well but check out the map of Zapp's Park! The picture above was taken along side the swimming pool, not in the main part of the lagoon where the boats were rented. You can see the "Scenic Railway" in the background (and indicated on the map) so it is possible to identify the exact position of the shot. I put an "X" where the people were sitting and a arrow for the direction the shot was taken. Neat eh?

Yet another view of Zapp's park with row boats (from an old postcard).
