Central Fish Chinatown

~
Do you remember the Country Boys Market with its wooden floors? Walter Smiths was the place to go for clothes on the Fulton Mall. Penny Candy had great blacklight posters and don't forget Whitie's Pet Store on Blackstone. What vintage retail do you remember growing up in Fresno?

Central Fish Chinatown

Post by galactustrilogy » Wed May 09, 2018 9:14 pm

I'm looking for photos from Central Fish in Chinatown, from the 1950s to 1970s timeframe. I have photos of the new location. It's for a story about my recollections of working there in 1973- and 74. Please contact me if you can help me out! I've checked with the Fresno Bee but they are unable to locate any. Nothing at the Heritage Center at the main County Library, and nothing at the Fresno Historic Society. Thanks in Advance!

Another shot of Central Fish during its hay day. Looks like they were during very good business and the banners above leave no doubt about it being located in Fresno's China Town on 1507 Kern Street.
