Roosevelt Hi swimming pool

Nothing struck fear into a young boy like the high dive tower at Blakely's. Or perhaps you preferred the water slide at Maple Plunge. But to a young man, Lake Millerton or Lost Lake was the destination. Remember the ice rink in Pinedale? Post your favorite Summer Activity here.

Roosevelt Hi swimming pool

When I was a youngish kitten living in the RHS area, my mom would take me and my demon brother to Red Cross Swim Lessons in the summer. The sessions lasted a few weeks and your class was assigned according to your aquatic ability. ALSO, during summer the pool was open to the public (this was in the 50s to early 60s--don't know how long it continued. Often on summer evenings my Dad would take the whole family for a post-dinner swim session. What languid fun! The pool was open during the daytime during the summer, too (after classes) and admission was something like 10 cents or a quarter. Wonderful memories! Anybody else?
