Stanley's Restaurant Armenian Flair

Pulling into the Mars Drive-in for a Lime Rickey. Ordering up a burger from the car hop at the A&W on Blackstone. Checking out the action at Bob's Big Boy. Your favorite grilled cheese sandwich at the Woolworths Counter. Don't forget loading up at Perry Boys Smorgy. What eats do you miss?

Stanley's Restaurant Armenian Flair

Post by elizabird » Mon May 30, 2016 7:38 am

The brother of the Stanley's restaurant in the old Farmers Market had his own lunch diner across the side street beside the Del Webb building. I worked for an architect who had his office on the ground floor of that side of the Del Webb, and we used to go over to this diner for takeout lulu kebab burgers. The diner only had about 15 stools at most, and all the eats were basic burger plate specials with an Armenian flair, including lahmajoon and pilaf as "sides". Best lunches ever!
