Pulling into the Mars Drive-in for a Lime Rickey. Ordering up a burger from the car hop at the A&W on Blackstone. Checking out the action at Bob's Big Boy. Your favorite grilled cheese sandwich at the Woolworths Counter. Don't forget loading up at Perry Boys Smorgy. What eats do you miss?

Zennys (spicy and heat-hot Mexican fare)

Post by christone » Sat Apr 14, 2012 10:01 am

I'm not certain that it is lost, but I remember enjoying spicy and heat-hot Mexican fare, at very reasonable prices, at a restaurant named Zennys, in Fresno, during the 1960s. I doubt exactly remember where it was, but I think somewhere adjacent to the Tower District. For all I know, the restaurant still operates. Or does it qualify as Lost Fresno?

Burning the ole brain cells. Zenny was on Olive and Blackstone. After Zenny closed someone opened up a restaurant called Lenny on Belmont near Palm.

Zenny's was hands down the best Mexican food on the East Side of the tracks. Best cheese enchiladas, chili rellenos and chips I've ever had. Located right next to the canal at Blackstone & Olive.
