I remember when I was in my early 20s, the Black Angus, Wilikers, and The Scoreboard all turned into fabulous Dance clubs at night. The three were in close proximity to each other and we’re dubbed the “Herpes Triangle”.

Hungry Tiger, which was the sister restaurant to Dorns Breakers Cafe in Morro Bay, became the Old Spaghetti Factory when OSF left its downtown location by the railroad tracks.
I worked at the Refectory back in the 70’s. Started out as a dishwasher and moved up to the salad bar before it burned down. Still one of the coolest places and vibes I’ve known.

Anybody remember The Graduate Bar or the Matador Restaurant at cedar and ashlan? How about the Copper Pot in the same strip mall as the Town and County Theater at first and ashlan?

Back in the 80's I worked at the Fresno PD. DiCicco's and the Hofbrau house were regular hangouts for the detectives. I also loved the Outpost. I seem to remember there was a nice bartender there named Jerry

Farmer's Market:
East of Community Hospital. Remember especially the barbecue place in there. Fabulous barbecue pork sandwiches on a pie tin with a side salad.
Across from that was Rossi's Pizza. Fabulous quality. Family run.

We likely ran into each other if you worked the late 70's, I worked there for a couple years and went from dishwash to prep cook. The infamous Bob Farrar, heh. I remember the cocktailers sneaking us drinks on long nights in the back, quite the no-no not the least of which because we were underage.

For some reason I always remember prepping the big prime ribs and making Hollandaise sauce for brunch on Sundays, don't know why. Weird the stuff one remembers. I remember Bob almost firing me when I wanted a day off to go race my car at the drags and he said no and I wasn't having any of it. Little wonder I started my own business a few years later. Hated answering to bosses. We worked it out though and my best friend at the time who also worked there calmed me down.

First and last food industry job. I later went on to make parts for the food processing industry in my business.

Mello Ice Cream shop. I'm not certain of the location, maybe near Roeding park. Al Radka would say at the end of the Mello commercial "Get Mello Fellow."
There was a Mello Ice Cream on Divisadero between First & the Mayfair Market shopping center.
Burgundy Cherry was a favorite!!

I remember all of these restaurants. Got my first Golden Retriever from Dee Tersian owner of Dee's, in 1967. Regarding the Velvet Turtle, once it closed, what did it become? Thanks!
I think it is now Red Lobster.

Ok, here's a restaurant question; years before food courts, does anyone remember the name of the sit down restaurant inside Fashion Fair?
There were several including Woolworth's and I worked in the Medallion Room Restaurant in Weinstock's. I think there was one more on the right walking away from Weinstocks which was on the end off of First Street?
