Roma's Pizzeria

Pulling into the Mars Drive-in for a Lime Rickey. Ordering up a burger from the car hop at the A&W on Blackstone. Checking out the action at Bob's Big Boy. Your favorite grilled cheese sandwich at the Woolworths Counter. Don't forget loading up at Perry Boys Smorgy. What eats do you miss?

Roma's Pizzeria

Post by HempShoward » Wed Nov 16, 2016 8:00 pm

Roma's Pizzeria on Belmont, just west of Blackstone. It became a massage parlor after Emelio and his family left. It was beyond great pizza. A family run operation. Emelio, the cook and owner, his wife was the waitress, his teenage sons worked in the kitchen and sometimes his young daughter would come out to show her latest tap dance moves. It was like dinner theater the boys would be arguing and fighting in the kitchen. Emelio would come out to talk to you at your table and if you got him talking about the war he would forget about your pizza. He would never burn it but it would be like molten lava delivered to the table. Fantastic pizza with meatballs even! The lasagna was to die for! It was always a fun experience.
