Fresno Junior Museum

Post by Clipper cat » Wed Mar 30, 2022 10:12 am

What I learned has been renamed the "Fresno Discovery Center" was, in my youth, the Fresno Junior Museum. I think it was new when my Dad took us in the mid 1950s. We went more than once. The most memorable visit was a night when some adult set up his powerful telescope aimed toward Saturn. Nothing had prepared me for such (literally) unearthly beauty. NB: Winery Avenue (still the location of the Discovery Center) was back then so far from the lights of Frez that it was a great location for telescope viewing. Probably no longer the case . . .
