80's Arcades in Fresno

Post by 80skid » Thu Feb 09, 2023 12:25 pm

These are not ranked, just listed as I remembered them.

1. Malibu Grand Prix - Blackstone/Herndon
2. Festival Game Place - Blackstone/Bullard, there was actually another hole in the wall arcade that preceded FGP in a portion of the same building.
3. ????? - Somewhere on Blackstone between Bullard and Barstow (U/A Theater side). I remember people would cruise through the parking lot until the police roped it off on weekends.
4. Tilt Arcade - Fashion Fair
5. ?????? - Short lived hole in the wall arcade to the left of K-mart (Blackstone/Barstow), but before Tower Records.
6. Blackbeards (Clovis)
7. Clovis Lakes
8. Fresno Fair Midway tents
9. Blackstone bowl (Blackstone/Shaw location)

@80skid, I'm the one that posted the Video Pinball on Princeton, then decided to register.

It just hit me, it was
The Warehouse
records and tapes. Not the record factory.

Sunnyside Bowling Alley next to Bakeman field. Spent HOURS in there playing their pinball machines and buying cigarettes from the vending machine.

There was a year in the 80s when you could go to Malibu on a Saturday and play unlimited tokens from 8 to noon for either 5 or 10 bucks. Great way to spend a Saturday morning before they turned on the cars.

More like the 70's, on Shields and maple, next to Zip & Go, Green Gables arcade and miniature golf. Now it's a parking lot for the Christian Center.
