All the stores on Fulton Street, Penneys, Gottschalks, Montgomery Wards, Berkleys, Longs, and others had store front windows that had Christmas decorations. Trains going around, Christmas figures moving, plane props spinning. Just so much fun to walk down the street on both sides and stare at the displays. Christmas season didn't start till after Thanksgiving. So much fun.
