I remember a band called The Shag, or as on the posters called Shag. They were first called The Lavender Hill Mob. A very good band. Denny Burt was the Lead Guitarist, and David Chevoya was the Harmonica player. They had a girl singer at one time. They opened for Big Brother and the Holding Company when Janis Joplin was just getting started. Thank you very much for mentioning them. The whole Fresno area as well as the Central Valley has had many well known players. In Merced The Brouges became Quicksilver Messenger Service. Tom Johnston of the Doobie Brothers is from Visalia, and Steve Perry from Journey is from Leemore/Hanford. And let me add Fresno has some of the best Automotive artist on the planet.
