The tank in question was reclaimed by the California Army National Guard, restored to its wartime configuration, and installed as an out door display at Camp San Luis Obispo.

Does anyone know what happened to the Stuart tank at Roeding Park. The tank was next to the Fort Miller Blockhouse. My friends and I played on that tank and went fishing for bluegill nearby.

Another shot of Fort Miller before it was restored and moved to Roeding Park, but not in as bad shape as the old photo a few posts up.

Table Mountain Rancheria has a lot of the old Fort Miller buildings. They were rebuilding the structures last I heard, but I don't know if they ever finished.

The blockhouse at its original location before it was moved to the park. I remember seeing it as a kid but it was only about half this size and had been repaired at that point.

IIRC, an article in the Bee several years back said the fort is currently dismantled and in storage someplace, but I'm not sure where. I also remember it and the tank in Roeding Park, as well as the fort having a small museum inside.

I'm looking for the Fort Miller current location as well. It is an important part of old Fresno and I remember it when visiting the park as a child. I found a 1964 article about the history of the Fort and I'm sharing it here. The continued on page 2C photo is a little hard to follow was I has to cut it up a bit to fit our forum. If anyone has memories of their visits to the Fort, please share them here!
